Skyve Wine Bistro

Tucked away near Newton Circus, they are open on Monday - Thursday from 12 noon, and Friday - Sunday from 10am. Their Loafing Breakfast menu is available daily from opening until 4pm.

As part of this menu they offer two variations of Eggs Benedict, the Skyve Sous Vide Eggs Benedict ($19) and the Salmon Polenta Benedict ($20).

The Skyve Sous Vide Eggs Benedict is served on an english muffin base with sauteed wild mushrooms, confit cherry tomatoes, streaky bacon, two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.

The Salmon Polenta Benedict is served on two pieces of crispy polenta with smoked salmon, two poached eggs, confit cherry tomatoes, hollandaise sauce and fine herbs.

  • I went for the Salmon Polenta Eggs Benedict as I was intrigued to see how well the polenta base supported this traditional dish. Unfortunately I found the polenta a little lacking in flavour, too crumbly and extremely filling when served up with two thick pieces. I enjoyed the smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce but felt the eggs were a little under poached and not of great quality. Think I'd go for their other Eggs Benedict option next time.
