Curious Palette

The owners of Strangers Reunion have recently opened a sister offering in a beautifully converted shop house on Prinsep Street. In-keeping with the students-in-residence feel of this neighbourhood, the addition of this trendy cafe is likely to spark a renewed interest in this central area of Singapore.

While the menu is subject to change, they currently offer their House Smoked Salmon on Sourdough ($18.90) and Pulled Pork on Sourdough ($22.50) which are both takes on Eggs Benedict. These form part of the all day breakfast menu which is served from 9am to 6pm; they are closed on Tuesdays.

The House Smoked Salmon on Sourdough ($18.90) is served alongside two poached eggs, hazlenut bearnaise, feta, walnut crumble, dried cranberry cream cheese and a petit salad.

The Pulled Pork on Sourdough ($22.50) is served alongside purple cabbage, arugula, a poached egg, semi dried tomato, fried shallots and hollandaise sauce.

  • I'm a big fan of Strangers Reunion and was very excited to hear about their latest offering on Prinsep Street; it certainly didn't disappoint. The modest entrance leads into a beautifully decorated modern interior with trendy lighting and ornate hanging plants. I went for their Pulled Pork on Sourdough ($22.50) which was bursting with colour and fresh flavours. I would have preferred a little more of a distinctive hollandaise sauce but otherwise I couldn't put this dish wrong.
