US Ribeye Steak @ New Ubin Seafood

for 500g set

While this place has the look and feel of a coffee shop, it has one of the best value-for-money steaks in Singapore. The quality and taste of the US Ribeye here is fantastic, and you'll see every table ordering at least one or two of these babies. The pricing is $12 per 100g, so say $60 for 500g which is a steal considering it also includes a plate of fries/potato wedges and a large serving of the 'heart attack fried rice' that is cooked in all the leftover beef fat/oil. The other dishes like satay etc are pretty good as well, but the main attraction by far is the beef.

Plus, free corkage so you can bring as much wine as you want. What's there not to like?

  • The 'Chocolate Alexander w/ Ice Cream' aka chocolate lava cake was pretty good for the $7 price. Not a huge portion nor was it super oozy, but it made up for it in taste. Very nice chocolatey taste and though the exterior was a bit harder than most variants, it was very good nonetheless.

  • First time trying the baby back ribs ($60 for a full rack). We were wayyy too stuffed from the beef to fully enjoy these, but they were quite good nonetheless. Nice texture and great sauce. Would suggest getting a half rack to try out and/or not overdose on the beef/fried rice beforehand.

  • Foie Gras Satay @ $7 a stick is an amazing deal! Three chunks per stick that are super delicious and sinful... no wonder my cholesterol is skyrocketing!
